Alumni
The LA Jr. Kings are proud of their rich tradition of players excelling at the highest possible levels in North American and world hockey leagues. These players played within the LAJK program during their growth and development phases, and they have enriched our program through their work ethic, discipline, commitment and perseverance.
In the 2016's NHL Entry Draft (3) former Los Angeles Jr Kings Alumni were selected by the National Hockey League including Edmonton Oilers first round selection Kailer Yamamoto. Our LAJK alumni are grouped below within the highest level of hockey each has achieved.
As a new tradition, started in 2011, we will welcome back a select group of current LAJK Alumni to participate in our Alumni game. This game, played at the TSC, is a great competitive event pitting our best former players on the rise against selected Los Angeles Kings Alumni.
Cayla Barnes, USA Hockey Olympic Gold Medal 2018 and former Los Angeles Jr. King
- As a member of the U.S. Women’s National Under-18 Team, participated in three International Ice Hockey Federation Under-18 Women’s World Championships and is the only player to win three consecutive gold medals (gold-2015, 2016, 2017)
- Was on the U.S. Women's National Team roster for a pair of games against Canada in December 2016
- Three-time member of the U.S. Women’s Under-18 Select Team at the Under-18 Series (2014, 2015, 2016)
- Participated in three National Women's Festivals (2014, 2015, 2016)
IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship
- 2017: Named Directorate Award winner as Best Defenseman, one of the Top-3 U.S. Players; U.S. Player of the Game on Jan. 7 vs. Canada.
- 2016: Named Directorate Award winner as Best Defenseman, one of the Top-3 U.S. Players and a media all-star team member
- 2015: Skated in five games for Team USA
