Former Los Angeles Jr. King Dustin Wolf was named the Western Hockey League (WHL) Goaltender of the Week and league nominee for the Canadian Hockey League Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 31.
In three appearances between the pipes for the Everett Silvertips, Wolf sported a 2-0-1 record, including one shutout, to compliment a 1.34 goals-against average and .945 save percentage as his team claimed a 4-games-to-1 series victory over the Tri-City Americans in the first round of the 2019 WHL Playoffs.
Wolf’s week began on Wednesday with a 28-save performance in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Americans, earning him Third Star of the Game honors. The following night, Wolf recorded the first shutout of his WHL postseason career, stopping all 24 shots he faced in a 3-0 win on his way to being named First Star of the Game and the WHL’s First Star of the Night. On Saturday, Wolf stopped 17 of 18 shots as the Silvertips won a 9-1 contest in the series-clinching game.
The 5-foot-11, 160-pounder produced a 4-1 record in the five-game series while maintaining a 1.60 goals-against average and .937 save percentage. Among goaltenders in this year’s WHL Playoffs, Wolf ranks first in goals-against average and save percentage and is tied for first in victories and shutouts.
Wolf is coming off an impressive second season with the Silvertips where he continued the team’s legacy of strong goaltending. In 61 games, he sported a 41-15-2-2 record, 1.69 goals-against average, .936 save percentage and seven shutouts. For the regular-season portion of his WHL career, Wolf has fashioned a 54-21-2-2 record in 81 games, sporting a 1.83 goals-against average, .934 save percentage and 11 shutouts.
Last month, NHL Central Scouting recognized Wolf on its midterm rankings of 2019 draft-eligibles; the 2001 birth year is listed No. 17 among North American goaltenders.
Wolf was also named the WHL Goaltender of the Week for the weeks ending Oct. 28, Nov. 25, Dec. 9, Jan. 27 and March 3 and WHL Goaltender of the Month for December. He was named the CHL Goaltender of the Week for the weeks ending Dec. 9 and Jan. 27.

Providence College junior forward Josh Wilkins, a former Jr. King, was named the NCAA Tournament’s Most Outstanding Player of the East Regional last weekend after connecting for three goals and two assists in the Friars’ victories over Minnesota State (6-3) and Cornell (4-0).
