Former Los Angeles Jr. King Jake Rosenbaum celebrated an NCAA Division I national championship as a member of the University of Minnesota Duluth after the Bulldogs downed the University of Massachusetts, 3-0, in Saturday’s title game in Buffalo, N.Y.

A freshman defenseman, Rosenbaum (pictured) played 16U AAA and 18U AAA with the Jr. Kings from 2013-15 before playing three years of junior in the North American Hockey League.

Former Jr. Kings Cole Guttman, a freshman forward at the University of Denver, Ryan Orgel, a sophomore defenseman at Denver, and Josh Wilkins, a junior forward at Providence College, also competed in this year’s Frozen Four.

WILKINS SIGNS WITH PREDATORS

The Nashville Predators have signed former Los Angeles Jr. King Josh Wilkins to a two-year, entry-level contract.

Wilkins, a 21-year-old free agent, helped lead Providence College to its fifth Frozen Four appearance in school history in 2018-19 and capped off his junior campaign with a career-high 46 points (20 goals) in 40 games. He led the Friars and was ninth in the country in points, and his 20 goals - also a career best - were 10th among all NCAA players.

Wilkins, who was among the top three on his team in scoring during all three of his college seasons, was a 2019 NCAA All-American and a 2019 First Team Hockey East All-Star - both career firsts. He closed out his time at Providence with 108 points (48 goals) in 119 games from 2016-19.
