de Mey named WCHA Forward of the Week

Former Los Angeles Jr. King Vincent de Mey was named the WCHA Forward of the Week for the week ending Oct. 13 after connecting for two goals and an assist in two games with Northern Michigan University.

Former Los Angeles Jr. King Vincent de Mey was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Forward of the Week for the week ending Oct. 13.

A sophomore forward at Northern Michigan University, de Mey struck for two goals and an assist over the weekend in the Wildcats’ two-game split with visiting Michigan State University.

On Friday, he connected for a goal on the power play and picked up an assist. The next night, he sealed the victory for NMU with a goal with two minutes remaining in the third period to give the Wildcats a 2-0 advantage. In the win, de Mey recorded three shots on goal and was a plus-1.

Nationally, de Mey ranks 15th in goals per game (1.00) and is tied for 11th in power-play goals per game (.50).
