Former Los Angeles Jr. King Vincent de Mey was named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Forward of the Week for the week ending Oct. 20 marking the second consecutive week he’s received the honor.

A sophomore forward at Northern Michigan University, de Mey extended his goal and point streaks to four games last weekend with a team-leading three goals in the Wildcats’ two-game series at Boston University.

Spurring an impressive three-goal third period comeback for NMU Friday night, de Mey registered a power-play goal in the 4-4 tie. The next night, he put the Wildcats up, 2-1, with an even-strength goal in the final minutes of the first period.

He found the back of the net on the power play later in the contest for the eventual game-winner and his third goal of the weekend to cap his first career multi-goal night.

In the WCHA, de Mey ranks first in goals with five and second in total points with six. He also leads the league in goals per game (1.25), ranks among the WCHA leaders in power play points (three) and is tied for third nationally in goals (five).
