Former Los Angeles Jr. King Brendan Brisson was named the United States Hockey League (USHL) Forward of the Week for the week ending Nov. 17.

A member of the Chicago Steel, Brisson, who was also recently named to the U.S. Junior Select Team that will compete in next month's World Junior A Challenge in Dawson Creek, B.C., tallied two goals and chipped in a pair of assists to help lead his club to a 1-0-1-0 record over the Sioux City Musketeers.

On Friday night, the University of Michigan recruit struck for a pair of power-play markers and an assist on the man-advantage in a 6-3 victory. The next night, Brisson registered another assist on the power play as the Steel downed the Musketeers in overtime, 3-2.

“We’re so happy to see Brendan garner this type of recognition,” said Steel general manager Ryan Hardy. “We’re also privileged to help him continue to grow his game over the course of the season and see him reach his full potential.”

Through 16 games this season, Brisson has totaled more than a point per game with 18 (eight goals), which is tied for third on the team and fourth in the entire USHL.

Brisson is also currently riding a three-game point streak (three goals for five points) and has points in six of his last seven games (five goals, 12 points).
