Former Los Angeles Jr. King Dustin Wolf was named to the final 23-man roster for the 2019 U.S. National Junior Team that will compete in the upcoming International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship, which will be contested from Dec. 26, 2018-Jan. 5, 2020, in Ostrava and Trinec, Czech Republic.

Wolf, a 2001-born goaltender who was selected by the Calgary Flames in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, is manning the crease in this his third season with the Western Hockey League’s Everett Silvertips.

In 24 appearances this year, he holds a 17-6-1 record, including five shutouts, to compliment a 1.91 goals-against average and a .941 save percentage.

“We’ve asked the guys to give everything they had throughout this process and they did,” said John Vanbiesbrouck, general manager of the 2020 U.S. National Junior Team and also the assistant executive director of hockey operations for USA Hockey. “These are tough decisions, but we believe these are the 23 best players to achieve our goal.”

Last season, now-Yale University sophomore defenseman and Philadelphia Flyers draft pick Jack St. Ivany, also a former Jr. King, won a silver medal with Team USA at last year’s World Juniors in British Columbia.

Team USA will begin play in the World Junior Championship on Thursday (Dec. 26) in Ostrava against Canada. Puck drop is set for 10 a.m. PT and can be viewed live on NHL Network.
