Former Los Angeles Jr. King Brendan Brisson was one of 20 current United States Hockey League (USHL) players selected to compete in the upcoming All-American Game, which will be showcased on Jan. 20 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Mich.

The game will feature two teams made up of the top American-born prospects eligible for the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

A University of Michigan recruit, Brisson has totaled nine goals for 22 points through 20 games this season with the Chicago Steel. A C-rated prospect (a fourth-to-sixth-round NHL draft candidate), the 2001-born Brisson, who was named the USHL Forward of the Week for the week ending Nov. 17, represented his country earlier this month with the U.S. Junior Select Team that competed in the World Junior A Challenge in Dawson Creek, British Columbia.

Formerly known as the USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, the showcase will utilize a new format this season with players from the U.S. National Under-18 Team of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program taking on a group of the best American-born players primarily from the USHL, which is the lone Tier I junior league in the country.

Four former Jr. Kings have participated in the game: forwards Nolan Stevens, a St. Louis Blues draft pick, and Kailer Yamamoto (Edmonton Oilers) and goaltenders Thatcher Demko (Vancouver Canucks) and Dustin Wolf (Calgary Flames).

The All-American Game will be broadcast live on NHL Network (4 p.m. Pacific).

The 2020 NHL Entry Draft will be conducted on June 26-27 at Bell Centre in Montreal.
