Former Los Angeles Jr. King Brendan Brisson was named the United States Hockey League (USHL) Forward of the Week for the week ending Jan. 19.

A member of the Chicago Steel, Brisson struck for two goals and three assists to help lead his team to a two-game sweep over the Omaha Lancers.

On Friday, the University of Michigan recruit tallied a pair of assists, including one on the game-winning marker, in Chicago’s 5-4 overtime triumph. The next night, Brisson collected another assist before potting a pair of goals of his own in the Steel’s 6-1 victory.

On the season, Brisson, who was also named USHL Forward of the Week for the week ending Nov. 17, has totaled 35 points on 17 goals through 28 games. His 35 points ranks fifth on the Steel but is still good for ninth overall in the USHL. His pair of multi-point games last weekend now gives Brisson more multi-point games (10) than contests without a point (nine) this season.

Brisson, who earlier this month was ranked No. 31 among North American skaters on NHL Central Scouting’s midterm report, represented Team USA at last month's World Junior A Challenge where he was twice named U.S. Player of the Game. He also appeared in this year's All-American Game, which was showcased earlier this week.
