Deckhut, Schreifels, Kim make NCAA Division I plans

Three former Los Angeles Jr. Kings - forwards Sam Deckhut and Henri Schreifels and defenseman Noah Kim - have announced their commitments to play NCAA Division I hockey following their junior and prep school careers.

Three former Los Angeles Jr. Kings - forwards Sam Deckhut and Henri Schreifels and defenseman Noah Kim - have announced their commitments to play NCAA Division I hockey following their junior and prep school careers.

Deckhut has committed to St. Lawrence University (ECAC), with Schreifels deciding on RPI (ECAC) and Kim on the Air Force Academy (Atlantic Hockey Association).

The 2002-born Deckhut, who’s skating this season at Connecticut’s Salisbury School, tweeted: “I’m proud to announce my division one commitment to St. Lawrence University. I want to thank my family, teammates and coaches for helping me get to this point. #skatingsaints #salisburyathletics #sarumhockey

The 2000-born Schreifels (pictured), who’s totaled 39 points (21 goals) through 47 games this season with the British Columbia Hockey League’s Victoria Grizzlies, tweeted: “I’m very proud and excited to announce my commitment to play Division I college hockey and further my education at RPI. Thank you to my family, coaches, and teammates for supporting me and making this opportunity possible. #engineers

Kim, also a 2000 birth year who’s patrolling the blue line with the Alberta Junior Hockey League’s Okotoks Oilers (he’s connected for 12 goals for 52 points through 48 games), tweeted: “I am proud to announce my commitment to play Division 1 college hockey at the United States Air Force Academy. Would like to thank my family, friends, and everyone who has helped along the way. @AF_HKY #gofalcons"
