Former Los Angeles Jr. King Cooper Haar was named the North American Hockey League’s (NAHL) Central Division Star of the Week for the week ending Feb. 9.

A forward with the Aberdeen Wings, the 1999-born Haar connected for three goals and an assist to help lift his team to a two-game home sweep over the Minot Minotauros.

On Friday, Haar struck for two goals and an assist in a 4-3 win. The next night, he added another goal in a 3-2 shootout victory.

“Cooper has been an added difference-maker, both on the ice and in the dressing room,” Wings head coach Scott Langer said of Haar, who began the season with the NAHL’s Lone Star Brahmas. “He’s a mature player who has a desire to win every night, and that desire is contagious.”

Haar, who will represent Team Central at the upcoming 2020 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, ranks second in team scoring with 39 points through 42 games this season.

“Cooper’s weekend was a big boost to get us heading in the right direction,” Langer added.
