Former Los Angeles Jr. King Cole Guttman was named the National Collegiate Hockey Conference Forward of the Week for the week ending Feb. 23.
A sophomore forward at the University of Denver, Guttman paced all conference skaters with six points on three goals and three assists last weekend as the Pioneers a two-game sweep over Miami University.
Drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2017, Guttman recorded two goals and one assist on Friday, then added his NCAA-leading sixth game-winning goal and two more helpers on Saturday.
Guttman claimed a conference-leading three power-play points and a plus-4 rating. He also went 21-13 in the faceoff circle.
The 1999-born Guttman celebrated a Pacific District championship with the Jr. Kings in 2015-16 with a Jack Bowkus-led team that also included NHL draft picks Jack McGrew (San Jose Jr. Sharks) and Jack St. Ivany (Philadelphia Flyers).
