Four former Los Angeles Jr. Kings - forward Andre Gasseau and defensemen Shai Buium, Aidan Hreschuk and Ty Murchison - were recognized by NHL Central Scouting on its January “Players to Watch” list for 2021 draft-eligibles, which were released today (Jan. 22). 

Buium is tabbed as a B-rated prospect (a second- or third-round draft candidate), while Gasseau, Hreschuk (pictured) and Murchison are listed as C-rated prospects (fourth-, fifth- or sixth-round candidates).

Gasseau and Hreschuk, both Boston College recruits, and Murchison, who committed to Arizona State University last month, are skating for the U.S. National Team Development Program’s Under-18 Team this season, while Buium, a University of Denver commit, is patrolling the blue line for the United States Hockey League's Sioux City Musketeers. All four players are 2003 birth years.

Gasseau, Hreschuk and Murchison were members of the Jr. Kings’ 2017-18 Pacific District champion 14U AAA team that advanced to the USA Hockey National Championships.

The 2021 NHL Entry Draft will be conducted on July 23-24.
