Thatcher Demko, a former Los Angeles Jr. King, made his NHL debut on Saturday (March 31) as a member of the Vancouver Canucks in the team’s 5-4 overtime win over the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Demko, who was selected by the Canucks in the second round of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, played three seasons of NCAA Division I hockey at Boston College from 2013-16 before beginning his professional career with the American Hockey League’s Utica Comets - Vancouver’s top affiliate - the team he’s played for the past two seasons.

Prior to Boston College, the 22-year-old Demko played his junior hockey for the United States Hockey League’s Omaha Lancers and the U.S. National Team Development Program.
