Nine players who skated with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings this past season, along with three alumni, were invited to participate in their respective birth years at this year’s USA Hockey National Select Camps, which will be held over the summer in Amherst, N.Y.

Forwards Noah Alvarez, Andre Gasseau (pictured), Arvega Hovsepyan, Paul Minnehan, Tristan Rand and Ean Somoza and defensemen Aidan Hreschuk, Ty Murchison and Robert Zammetti - all of whom skated within the Los Angeles Jr. Kings program this past season - were invited to participate in their respective birth years at this year’s USA Hockey National Select Camps, which will be held over the summer in Amherst, N.Y.

The group was selected after their strong performances at the recent Pacific District Player Development Camps, which were showcased earlier this month in San Jose.

“This is an outstanding and well-deserved accomplishment for these young men,” said Jr. Kings general manager of hockey operations Nick Vachon. “Being recognized by USA Hockey on a national level is an honor and speaks volumes to both the talent and character of these kids and our organization from a player development standpoint.”

The 2003-born (Select 15s) Alvarez, Gasseau, Hovsepyan, Hreschuk (a Boston College recruit), Minnehan, Murchison and Somoza all played for the Jeff Turcotte-coached Bantam Major team that celebrated both California Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) state and Pacific District regional championships this past season, earning a berth to the USA Hockey National Championhips.

The 2002-born Rand (Select 16) played for the Jack Bowkus-led 16U AAA team, while the 2002-born Zammetti (Select 16) patrolled the blue line for the Jaro Modry-coached 15U AAA squad. Both clubs won CAHA state championships in 2017-18.

Three former Jr. Kings - forward Brendan Brisson (Select 17) and defensemen Shai Buium (Select 15) and Nicholas Kent (Select 17), a Quinnipiac University recruit - were also invited to participate in their respective national camps.
