Jack St. Ivany, a graduate of the Los Angeles Jr. Kings program, was selected by the Philadelphia Flyers in the fourth round (112th overall) of this year’s NHL Entry Draft, which was conducted on June 22-23 in Dallas.

A 1999-born defenseman from Manhattan Beach, St. Ivany totaled six goals and 30 assists in 54 regular-season games this past season with the United States Hockey League’s (USHL) Sioux Falls Stampede - his second year with the club - on his way to earning All-USHL Third Team recognition.

St. Ivany tweeted"Honored to have been drafted by @NHLFlyers! Very exciting day for my family and I, can’t wait to get to Philly for camp!"

"Jack's a really efficient two-way defenseman," said Flyers scout Nick Pryor. "He went through the draft last year and I thought he came a long way this year. His mobility is good, his first pass is good and his transition game is good. We're excited about him and excited about his future."

A Yale University recruit - he'll begin his freshman year at the Ivy League school this fall - St. Ivany was one of 40 players selected to compete in this year’s USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game, which was showcased in January.

He was also a member of the U.S. Junior Select Team that competed in this year’s World Junior A Challenge, which was contested in December in Nova Scotia.

In his final season with the Jr. Kings in 2015-16, St. Ivany helped the program’s 16U AAA team capture a Pacific District championship. That squad included 2017 NHL draft picks Cole Guttman (Tampa Bay Lightning) and Jake McGrew (San Jose Sharks).
