McMahan named WCHA Rookie of the Week

Former Los Angeles Jr. King Shane McMahan, who played his final youth season with the program's 18U AAA team, was named the WCHA Rookie of the Week for the week ending Jan. 27 as a member of Minnesota State University.

Former Los Angeles Jr. King Shane McMahan was named the Western Collegiate Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week for the week ending Jan. 27.

A freshman forward at Minnesota State University, McMahan lit the lamp twice and tallied an assist in the Mavericks’ two wins on the road at Northern Michigan University. He was also a plus-1 for the weekend.

McMahan, who played three seasons of junior hockey in the United States Hockey League (Fargo Force) and North American Hockey League (Aston Rebels), played his final season with the Jr. Kings in 2013-14 with the program’s 18U AAA team.
