Burke named Big Ten First Star of the Week

Former Los Angeles Jr. King Nathan Burke was named the Big Ten First Star of the Week for the week ending Feb. 17 after tallying four points in the University of Minnesota's two-game sweep over Ohio State University.

Former Los Angeles Jr. King Nathan Burke was named the Big Ten First Star of the Week for the week ending Feb. 17.

A freshman forward at the University of Minnesota, Burke tallied two goals and two assists in the Golden Gophers’ two-game sweep over Ohio State University.

On Friday, the 1998-born Burke rang up a goal and two assists in a 4-3 victory. The next night, Burke, who was also a plus-4 for the weekend, potted another goal in another 4-3 triumph.

On the season, Burke, who played juniors with the North American Hockey League’s Aberdeen Wings, has five goals for 14 points in 22 games.
