Christopher Benoit grew up a hockey player from the age of 3 months in Northern California for the Bay Area Cougars. He played for several teams and clubs in the Bay Area before leaving to play prep at Northwood School in Lake Placid, NY. He went on to play junior hockey in the NAHL for the Odessa Jacklopes, finishing his career with the Walpole Express in the AJHL (now the EHL). He left competitive hockey to pursue a college education and coach youth hockey in the Bay Area. He was assistant coach of the Golden State Elite Eagles Peewee AA team from 2014-2017 as well as head coach of the California Cougars Peewee B team in 2016-17. Both teams finished in the top three at the CAHA state championships every year but his first. He transferred to UCLA in 2017 where he graduated in 2019 with a bachelors degree in anthropology. Christopher is ecstatic to stay in Los Angeles after graduating in order to continue coaching as a part of the LA JR Kings organization and further his academic research in the field of anthropology.
