Syrena’s prior coaching experience is with the Jr Kings at the PeeWee A level. She has extensive experience in playing hockey starting here in Southern California. As a youth, she played on a girls team, the LA Blues, as well as boys teams headquartered out of Santa Monica. She was the second leading scorer as the only girl on the Operation East Travel Team playing East Coast Prep Schools under Russ Wyluda.
This experience led her to be recruited by Princeton University, where she played for four years under NHL Hall of Famer Bill Quackenbush. Syrena led the team to three Ivy League Championships and was the first athlete, male or female, to be awarded the Ivy League Player of the Year four years in a row. Syrena has a passion for the game which she hopes to pass on to the young players she has the privilege of coaching.
