Former Los Angeles Jr. King Tomas Sholl has been named the ECHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending March 18. It marks the second consecutive week Sholl, a rookie goaltender with the Idaho Steelheads, has received the honor.

The Los Angeles Jr. Kings’ Squirt BB1 and B teams advanced to the championship game in their respective divisions of this year’s SCAHA playoffs after winning their semifinal contests, which were played last weekend (March 17-18) at Ice Station Valencia.

The Los Angeles Jr. Kings’ Pee Wee BB and Squirt A2, BB1 and B teams will compete in the semifinal round of the SCAHA playoffs this weekend in Valencia, while their Pee Wee AA1 squad will play for a CAHA state title in Escondido.

The Los Angeles Jr. Kings’ Bantam Major team advanced to next month’s USA Hockey National Championships after winning last weekend’s Pacific District Championships, while the program’s Pee Wee BB and Squirt A2, BB1 and B teams all punched their tickets to next weekend’s SCAHA semifinals.

The San Jose Barracuda has signed former Los Angeles Jr. King Evan Weinger to an AHL contract. This season, the El Segundo native is skating for the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings.

The Los Angeles Jr. Kings’ Pee Wee AA Minor team ended its season on a winning note, celebrating victory in the 12U AA division at this year’s Southern California Amateur Hockey Association Flight II Championships, which were played on March 3-4 at Toyota Sports Center in El Segundo.

The Los Angeles Jr. Kings’ Pee Wee AA1 team punched its ticket to the California Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) State Championships after advancing through 12U AA Tier II Playdowns, which were contested last weekend (Feb. 24-25) at The Rinks-Lakewood Ice.

Nathan Burke has committed to attend and play his NCAA Division I hockey at St. Cloud State University following his junior career. He skated with the Los Angeles Jr. Kings during the 2014-15 season as a member of the program’s 16U AAA team.
